Mark Feeley: Global Brand Director
Mark has over 30 years’ experience in global capital markets, consulting, and associated technologies, focusing on risk management, front- and middle-office platforms and data management. Before Chartis he held executive positions in large global financial institutions, consultancies and FinTechs, in various roles including platform and software development, solution architecture, large-scale program management, vendor selection and implementation, and strategy development and execution.
With a background covering the front, middle and back office, Mark brings to Chartis a holistic view of business, technology, and regulatory issues across the enterprise, and how these issues can be addressed by leveraging appropriate technology solutions. His primary focus has been risk technology, and his work in this area includes leading the global teams for risk technology at RBS Capital Markets and AIG; working with middle- and front-office technology teams at Barclays Capital; extensive consulting experience with major consulting organizations including EY and Deloitte; and extensive vendor experience, including time at Algorithmics and Misys (now Finastra). Mark has an MA from Oxford University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Alexa McCloughlan: Global Head of Research and Advisory
Alexa brings her energy, analytical ability and business process rigor to Chartis. An accomplished senior product management and business development executive she is experienced in technology, IT & professional services, and financial services industries. Prior to joining Chartis, Alexa held leadership positions with Forrester, Greenwich Associates, Gartner and IDC. Under her guidance new products were successfully launched and enjoyed significant growth to become the industry standard.
Alexa brings a laser focus on client centricity, and an innovation mindset to her work. A true leader, she has built teams of highly motivated professionals and led collaborative, cross functional projects.
Alexa began her career as an equity analyst at Goldman Sachs as a member of its technology research team. She received a BA in business administration and French from Franklin & Marshall College.

Sid is the Chief Researcher at Chartis Research with more than 25 years of experience in the financial, energy and commodities markets in various functions across the trade and software development lifecycles. He has held various roles in product development, trading, risk management, software development and consulting in banks, hedge funds, and risk advisory and software firms, including Standard Chartered Bank, TCG Group, HCL and Cognizant.
Sid’s specific areas of interest and research include risk data, model risk management, quantitative models in illiquid markets, high-performance analytics, energy and commodity trading risk, market structure design, new computational models, and the use of innovative mathematical methods in various emerging areas of risk management .He has a MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and is a qualified Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst CAIA, Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Energy Risk Professional (ERP), Member of GARP and CIPM from the CFA institute.
Nick Vitchev: Research Director

Nick is research specialist focusing on the Financial Crime and Fraud markets. Nick joined Chartis from LexisNexis Risk Solutions, where he led the Insight function delivering strategic research and intelligence in the Fields of Financial Crime, Payments, Fraud and Cybercrime.
Prior to LNRS, Nick had a 15-year career across Banking, Government, Payments and Private Equity leading research, analytics and strategic planning teams.
Nick’s career in banking and finance across Barclays, Lloyds and RBS, has exposed him to a broad range of focus areas including Treasury Services, Retail, Corporate and Private banking with focus on growth, international expansion, transformation and risk. Through his varied career and educational background in Economics and Management Nick adopts a macro-to-micro approach to problem diagnostics and solution.
Anish Shah: Research Director

Having joined Chartis Research in April 2021, Anish’s focus is to lead and build out the offerings in the Core Banking & RegTech space. Anish has a unique skill set combining around two decades of Business -Technology experience within the Core Banking and RegTech software markets driving the Product Strategy, Partnerships, Business Solutions and Development. Before joining Chartis Research, he held senior level positions with market leading companies like AxiomSL (now Adenza), Temenos and Grant Thornton focusing in the domain of Core Banking, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Financial Accounting & Regulatory Reporting. Anish is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a certified Systems Auditor from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Anish’s areas of interest being in the RegTech, RiskTech, DataTech and Core Banking Software markets, his specialisation is to turn the regulatory requirements into catalysts to drive strategic business outcomes, sustainable cost reductions through automation, data driven business insights, building reusable and scalable data models and defining joint value propositions for an end-to-end product offering integrating with the third-party products and services.
Philip Mackenzie: Research Principal

Phil is the Research Principal for Chartis’ Financial Crime Risk Management pillar, focusing on anti-money laundering, anti-fraud, Know Your Customer, trade-based money laundering, trade surveillance and related areas. He is also one of the primary analysts on Chartis’ RiskTech100, has managed vendor-selection projects in international financial institutions, and has produced market analysis and return on investment projects, as well as leading Chartis’ Risk IT Expenditure report.
Maryam Akram: Research Principal
Maryam is a Research Principal at Chartis, focusing on quantitative methods in financial risk management – including Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning. Maryam has been the lead analyst and author of a variety of industry and thought leadership reports, including insurance risk systems, asset and liability management and credit risk analytics. She also works on risk-aware accounting and governance risk and compliance (GRC) – focusing on model risk management (MRM). Maryam has been involved with a variety of Business - Technology strategy projects and other types of consulting work.
Maryam has experience using statistical software, machine learning libraries, Python and MATLAB. She also specializes in graphics production and visualizations. Maryam holds a first-class BA Honours from the London School of Economics and an MSc in computation and cognition with distinction from Birkbeck, University of London. Maryam also has a certificate in Risk in Financial Services from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. Other areas of interest include computer vision research, rule-based symbol systems, neural computation and cognitive modeling.
Ahmad Kataf: Senior Research Specialist
Ahmad Kataf is a Senior Research Specialist for Chartis’ Financial Crime Risk Management pillar, working on reports including Anti-Money Laundering, Know Your Customer, Enterprise Fraud, and Communications Monitoring as well as the Chartis RiskTech100. Ahmad has 5 years’ experience in banking, due diligence, and research in the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. He holds an MBA from Kingston University.
Matt Stover: Senior Research Specialist
Matt is a Senior Researcher for Chartis’ Energy and Commodities pillar. Working closely with our Chief Researcher and research team, Matt provides valuable insights to vendor and market trends across the energy and commodities landscapes in support of Chartis’ publications and advisory offerings. He joins Chartis with more than a decade of experience working in CO2 capture, transport, storage, and utilization with various upstream operators. Matt has led numerous projects with focus areas including economics and business strategy, forecasting, software development, product design, and workflow optimization. Matt graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma with a BS in Chemical Engineering.
Abdi Khadir Mohamud: Research Specialist
Abdi is a Research Specialist at Chartis Research. In this role, He works closely with our Research Directors and other Research Specialists with various research projects to support the various Chartis publications. Abdi works within the pillars of GRC, and Financial risk of Chartis research pillars. Before joining Chartis, Abdi has worked in the supply chain and logistics industries for over 7 years in which held several positions including production control analyst and logistics coordinator. Abdi earned a BA in Information systems from Middle Tennessee State University with concentration in Business analytics and programming. Abdi has experience in the following programming languages C#, Python, and R.
Jake Hoskins: Research Analyst
Jake began working as a Research Analyst at Chartis in October, he comes with a Bachelor's in Finance, from Tennessee Tech in December 2019. Jake previously worked as a Credit Analyst at Wilson Bank & Trust.
Kaylee Davis: Research Analyst
Kaylee started at Chartis as a Research Analyst in October 2022 and comes fresh from her undergraduate institution, Hamilton College, where she studied Neuroscience and Creative Writing. She has previous experience as a researcher in neuroscience labs, and more recently as a journalist for BioSpace.
Travis Crum: Research Analyst
Travis began as a Research Analyst with Chartis in October 2022 and comes with a master’s degree in Political Science with a focus on Political Economics from the University of Tennessee. He previously worked as a Graduate Teaching Associate Teaching Intro to Comparative Politics and Political Economy.
Jason Wright: Research Analyst
Jason began as a Research Analyst with Chartis in October 2022 and comes with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Economics from Wright State University. Jason previously worked as a Financial Crimes Compliance Analyst with Protiviti, specializing in Alert Analysis and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews.
Ryan Davidson: Data Analyst
Ryan Davidson joined Chartis as a Data Analyst in July 2021. In this role, he works closely with our Research Directors, Specialist, and Analyst to interpret various data types to help tell compelling data stories to support the various Chartis publications. Before joining Chartis, Ryan has worked as a consultant Geologist to several major Oil and Gas companies across the United States and Canada. Ryan earned a BS in Geosciences from Austin Peay State University, a certificate of completion of the Data Science program from Lambda School, and a certificate of Data Analysis from Google.
